We are having a real, snowy winter for the first time in too long. Lots of people are complaining, but I am feeling a little wistful. I wonder if this will be one of the last cold winters.
Last week there was a very pretty snow storm.
The next day was more snow turning into freezing rain with huge lakes of slush bordering the sidewalks.
The slush froze, first turning a lovely sandy texture, then polishing to ice. I went out to photograph bicycles lost in the snow.
Instead I found battered fashion week posters,
and a snow demon.
The other day, this light came through my window in the late afternoon. I had never noticed it before.
It is snowing again today. It might change to ice, or rain. I am hoping it does not get too ugly.
